Oldies But Goodies

Why adopt a senior?

Many older dogs were once loved and a part of someone’s life. For whatever reason, they were given up and abandoned in a shelter and are in need of a home. Older dogs make loyal and very loving companions, with some perks over the puppies and younger dogs.  Older dogs have a greater attention span; therefore, you CAN teach old dogs new tricks. Older dogs are calmer and have all of their adult teeth, they are past their destructive teething stage. Most older dogs are potty-trained and have mastered the basic commands such as “sit,” “stay,” “come,” and “down.”

When you gaze into the wise and worldly eyes of a rescued senior dog, you will see an animal who knows they have been saved. They don’t care where you live, what you look like or what you do for a living; they will dedicate the remainder of their lives to thanking you.
